First things first... since this is my first post: let me introduce myself. Hello, my name is Brenda Anne. Well techinically it's Brenda, and Anne is my middle name but I just feel like using my middle name, okay? If you're not okay with that, first of all you're an idiot, second there's really nothing you can do about it. So, HA! I guess I can tell you what I look like, or you can just see pictures later. But since I'm not really that photogenic maybe it's best I just explain myself. I'm tall (I guess. 5'8/5'9 is that considered tall for a 15-year-old girl?), I have either dark blonde hair, or light brown hair, not quite sure. See when I was little my hair was pure blonde, but then it changed so I don't know if it would still be considered blonde or not, but whatever. My eyes change colors, but the most dominant colors are green and gold, but they can be blue, hazel, and brown too.
Anyway, as you can probably tell I babble on a lot about pointless things. I think that I get that trait from my mom, because when she wants to ask a complete strager a question she launchs into a whole life story! It's funny, and sometimes annoying, so if I ever annoy you just let me know.
Back to the point of the blog... I wanted to tell you about my trip to New York City!!! The Big Apple! The City that Never Sleeps! Well, first off let me just say we probably picked one of the most frustrating times of the years to go. And by frustrating I mean I wanted to punch someone frustrating. I did not know that it was possible to have so many people on one street corner waiting for the walk signal and the light change. I mean, I knew there would be a lot of people, it's New York City for goodness sakes but when I don't even have to walk to move (because people are pushing me along) that's just crazy.
We took a train there, and it took forever. Luckily we left really early so I was tired which meant I slept most of the time and wasn't completely bored out of my mind. We left on Thursday which I think was the 27th of December. When we finally got there it was raining, and cold. Yipee, what a welcome right? So we headed to Macy's (the biggest department store apparently)! There were like 8 floors! My family didn't really want to buy anything so we entertained ourselves by going up and down all the escalators, it was actually really fun! We also noticed that there were barely and men's clothes and like 6 floors of women's clothing, kinda funny don't cha' think? So after we had fun doin that, we went outside and looked at the display windows outside, which I must say were amazing. They were all decorated with the holidays and told like a story. It's hard to explain.
We were suppose to go to an modern art museam (sp?) the second day we were there, but since it was raining and it wouldn't be that much fun walking around in rain we went to it the first day. Are you ready? Here comes the first lie. We go in and children 16 and younger get in free. Now, my brother is 17 so can you guess what we did? Yep, my parents told the people that he was 16. *gasp* how horrible. Second lie: they said that we had to get our backpack (that my dad was cacrrying) checked, but the checking line was like a mile long (no exaggeration)(okay maybe a little) but the line was HUGE! So he's like "forget this" and he throws his coat over the bag so you can't really see it and it looks like he just has a hunch-back, and we headed right in. Oh yeah, and you aren't suppose to bring in food or drinks, but guess what? We brought both... we're such bad people. At the museam I got so bored. I'm not really into staring at pieces of art that don't really make sense to me. So to entertain myself I downloaded and played a bunch of free trial games on my cell phone. At one point I was sitting on this bench and my family disappeared. I was like "well, they'll come back" but they didn't for the longest time, and I got kinda scared. I was like "crap, I'm lost" so I was running around (not literally) looking for them to find them. When I couldn't I called my mom, and she's like "we're outside the exhibit", but by this time I was so far into it I couldn't find my way out (it was like a freakin' maze). So I'm walking around on my phone and this security gaurd comes up to me, and was like "you have to talk on the phone outside, not in here". So I nodded and decided I would just get off the phone so I kept walking as I said good-bye and the security lady was like "Outside!" and then she grabs me and begins shoving me towards an exit, and I was like "Whoa! I'm getting off!" and I hung up and quickly ran away. Geez, overreaction much? So I finally found my family, and they said they had been looking for me so everything was okay. Oh yeah, then I fell asleep as they looked at another exhibit.
After the art museam we walked around for a while, and ate then we headed to our hotel which was like 40 floors! No joke, it was ca-razy! The lobby was on the 8th floor, which was kinda weird. We checked in and went to our room and chilled for a while. Then we went to a broadway show! We saw Phantom of the Opera. It seemed like they like to blind us with lights, because a lot of times this huge light flashed and you would be blinded for like 5 seconds. the show itself was pretty good, kinda spooky though. The singing was really good, and there were a lot of trapdoors that the actors kept going through. Oh yeah, here's another lie: You aren't suppose to bring food or drinks in, so can you guess what we did? You know us too well, we brought in food AND drinks. Yep, we broke the rules. So after the show I was so tired that I felt like collasping but then we had to walk back to the hotel and when we got there I just like fell onto the bed andd went right to sleep, after I had a soda and a snack and watched an episode of Scrubs though.
So the next and final day, we did a bunch of nothing. We walked around Central Park, plaed so checkers, then went to a church where I fell asleep (I was really tired, okay?). Then we walked around again, then finally at night-time, we went to Rockafeller (sp?) Center where there is a HUGE building, and we went on top of it. We stood in line for like two hours so we could stand on the top of a building to look at the city. I have to admit the city was quite amazing looking with all the lights but I had problem enjoying it because I have a small problem with heights. So after that we slowly made our way to the train station for our train home. We waited there for like 2 hours and 5 minutes before we were suppose to board the train, my brother was like "I have to go to the bathroom" so we like ran around looking for a bathroom, used it, then had to run to catch our train. It was quite stressful. As soon as I got home, I thought i would go right to sleep, but then I talked on the phone for a while and on the computer and was up until like three in the morning, and now I'm really tire because I woke up early this morning. I'm and idiot.
Wow, that was a long blog! Whew, tired fingers! Don't always expect this, my life usually isn't this interesting. Oh wait, before I go, I need your opnion! Should I cut my side-bangs again or let them grow in? I guess you can't really answer that since you don't know what I look like unless you know me, but try anyway. Thanks!
